1. Collection #7 - Barry Sykes’ souvenir pens and pencils. - currently on display at Extra Bones HQ.
For the last few years Barry has been gathering particular pens and pencils with a name, business, town, or tourist destination written on them. This is the first time he has displayed them together and hopefully gives him an ideal opportunity to find out why on earth he keeps doing this and what exactly he finds interesting about them. Barry, amongst other things does talks as artworks. Look out for his upcoming talk on his collection at Utrophia! More collections here.

  2. collection #6 - Andrew Kerr’s “food with a face” food packaging - currently on display at Extra Bones H Q. Andrew collects various types of stuff, some of which is displayed on his tumblr alongside things he has made, via the link. This particular collection is on show with a (perhaps too) analytical (although tongue in cheek) pondering on the implications of presenting a consumable substance as a humanoid character… the other collections are here.

  3. collection #5, Ben Meschko’s passport photos - currently on show in the Extra Bones shop. Ben is also a great remember-er of birthdays and on Wednesday told me 5 different people he knew, who’s birthday it was. Ben also paints amazing, guttural semi-abstract landscapes and is generally a beguiling and awesome weirdo.

  4. This is Collection #4 - Rachael Mcarthur’s Stuff. I’m pretty sure that this is only a part of Rachael’s trinket collection, and that’s before her clothes, books, and everything else! Rachael also collects drawings done by the primary school children she works with, which inspire her own artwork. Have a good look at her website, esp. the installations - theyre so great!

  5. Collection of Thor Heyerdahl books belonging to Kasper Pincis. As well as these books, and generally books on explorers, Kasper collects old type-writers which he also uses as an art medium, and has a collected a large amount of bones which he found on the side of the Thames.

  6. the lost and found badge collection of Matthew Rigsby Smith. Circa age 6. Collection #2 will be on show at the shop for a couple of weeks, and is accompanied by a passage by Matthew about the collection, and about re-finding it.

  7. This is Collection no.1, Robert Bidder’s matchboxes. Rob collected these over a number of years, mostly from the pavements of kent and london. He also has various items for sale in the shop, including a dvd, Mammal Land, of 11 of his short films. Some of which can be seen on you tube.
